Ethiopian opal, are some of the most translucent stones. Silica is basically glass made from nature which creates colors, Ethiopian opal is porous, which mean it absorb water, these opals are called hydrophane opals as it has the ability to absorb water or any liquids, which result in change of colors which is temporary, usually the color come back after it is air dried.
